Streamlined Cloud Integration and Storage Locations
Streamlined Cloud Integration. Both Virtual Surveyor apps (Terrain Creator and Virtual Surveyor) auto-detect and connect to supported cloud storages. You aren't required to do any manual setup because you can simply use the cloud locations you've already setup and synced in your File Explorer.
Cloud Storage Locations. The following cloud service apps are supported and will automatically connect to Virtual Surveyor:

How to Use Cloud Locations from Anywhere
From any computer you can securely work from:
- Download the Virtual Surveyor app (if necessary).
- Download your cloud service provider app (OneDrive, Dropbox)
- Login to the cloud service app with your email and sync your cloud files to the File Explorer.
- Open the Virtual Surveyor app and login with your Virtual Surveyor ID.
That's it, you're done! The supported Cloud Locations and any other file locations from File Explorer will automatically be accessible in both the Virtual Surveyor and Terrain Creator apps.
Benefits of Cloud Integration
Data Follows You
You can access all your Virtual Surveyor projects from anywhere. Your cloud service apps will download the files you need and move projects that you don’t use frequently to your cloud space.
- Access your projects on any computer you login to with your Virtual Surveyor ID.
- Recent projects follow you because they are synced in a cloud location.

Save Memory and Computing Space
- Only download the files you need to keep free space on whichever computer you are currently using.
- Cloud apps automatically clear up space on your computer when files haven't been accessed in a while.
Collaborate in Teams
You can collaborate in teams with the use of cloud software to access the same files from or with other team members, across devices.
How collaboration works. If you save a project file to a cloud location that you have set up to share with others using your cloud service (Dropbox, OneDrive, or SharePoint), a team member can download and access that Virtual Surveyor or Terrain Creator project file and any terrain files that go with that project on their own computer using their Virtual Surveyor ID.

Share Externally
As an additional bonus of using Cloud Locations to store your project files, you can use your cloud service provider to share your Virtual Surveyor and Terrain Creator project files externally (with other Virtual Surveyor users outside of your company/organization). You can also share any exported .dxf, .csv, and other exported files from Virtual Surveyor with others outside of your organization.
How to share externally. To share files externally, simply go to File Explorer and access a Cloud Location from there. Then use right-click to access the share menu and send project or exported files to others from there.

Tips and Tricks
- If you use Google Drive, you can download their app and add it to "This PC" from File Explorer. This allows you to still access those files as if from the cloud.
- You can also add any thumb drive or other external drive to whatever computer you are on, and the Virtual Surveyor apps will locate those drives and any project files you have stored there.
